[00:00:01] Speaker A: As you call that radio's audio podcast. Season 4 episode 26 with CCTV we have an action packed episode for you. It's CCTV a hip hop Govern jewelry and actually thought I was going to be interviewing Jay Lee and Jam Harvey might turn up but it was opposite way around. It was Jam Harvey turned up to my surprise and Jay Lee was nowhere to be seen. But he does appear towards the end live from the four corners using modern technology. And both of them have just dropped new singles. One usually release music as a Joe cctv. They've been smashing it for a few years now. They've played the assaulted Barras with Stage G. I've seen them perform at various festivals. They just really keep busy. Been a breath of fresh air to the hip hop scene. Lots of talent in Scotland, pop scene. But I would say that these guys are probably the hardest working of their age group. They put on a really good live show and they're good guys, good guys, good crack. So it's a good interview. You might hear at one point, we did this as a live stream on Friday and you might hear at one point us talking about like noise levels and stuff like that. I just got new Internet, new setup so I was, I was. I'm locked up with the settings at one point but thankfully Mako the legend that is Mako the audio ninja has fixed all the audio so it should be. I should be a smooth, a smooth journey through. So if you hear me. But at one point I may complain about the noise. I was getting an echo in my ears and my volume went down at one point but that's all been fixed now so you just don't need worry about that. I don't even know why I'm telling you that but just in case you're confused why, while I'm complaining about the audio, it's fixed now, it's all sorted and it's a great conversation. We talk about, start off with Jam and Jam just released Money Talks and the Govern docs. So we talk about the gentrification of Govern, we talk about his hip hop influences, we talk about the music scene in general, we talk about life, we talk about everything. Really good crack. I think you're going to enjoy it. And they were promoting their gig which is this Friday. So I'm recording this on the 17th of December. They're having a week Christmas shindig on the 20th of December at the Space Bring your own bottle. So if you've heard this in time, get along to it. It's going to be Bring your own bottle. And it's an amazing lineup of hip hop acts. So I'll hopefully see you there on the 20th. Feeling that we're having a Boxing Day party on the 26th. And then Loki is having his album launch party not funded by Creative Scotland on the 28th of December. So if you're a Patreon, go and check your Patreon notifications because I've got discounts for all those gigs. And if you're skin and you're a Patreon, send me a message and I'll get you on the guest list as a thank you for your support over the year. Because just like Loki's new album, you call that Radio is not funded by Creative Scotland. It's not funded by anyone. You're not gonna have any adverse in the middle of this show. There's no sponsors, no funding, no adverts, is powered purely by the patrons. So if you've ever thought about supporting the show, now would be a good time. It's patreon.com you call that radio. And your generosity keeps the show going and it keeps it free for people who can't afford to donate. So thank you very much to anyone who has supporting the show. And check out cctv. It sounds like they've got two solo albums in the work and probably a group album in the. In the works as well. But they've got loads of great stuff online, loads of great features. Check them out and I hope you enjoy the show. This is a He Called that radio, episode 26 of season four with Jam, Harvey and Jaylee. I should call that Radio tv. And we're going to try and make some coherent sense for you. We're gonna go live to CCTV in a minute. It's Friday night. It's been a while since we did this Friday night phone and stuff. So we've got a new setup, new Internet, Kafka egg bureaucracy of some of them sending a new guy every three days to tell me that their department couldn't fix the problem, they need a special department. And that happened over and over again for a bit, for months. It's been months, it's been. And I was moving, but I finally got in on that I don't have a mic stand so I need. I'm in the process of buying a mixture so if anyone's to sell my make stand, you can. And I think that on there is working great. Everything seems to be fine apart from I've got a bit of an echo in my headphones. So when I Speak. I can hear myself on a slight delay. I'm going to try and figure that as the show goes on or just get used to my voice. The voices in my head. I'll figure out what I'll need to do this while I'm talking and then quickly put it back on when I'm talking to my special guests who are govern rabble rousers. Govern upstarts that I. You want to see up and coming. But they've been coming up for a while now. But still too young to be called veterans. So they're just in. They're just. They're at their peak probably. They're probably at their peak. It's CCTV in the house. Jam Harvey and Jay Lee and I think we could go live to jam. First of all. Jam. How's it going? [00:06:26] Speaker B: Yeah. Sharpening, bro. All good moment. [00:06:30] Speaker A: I'm going to put the background to. [00:06:35] Speaker B: Say a scheme hang mocker. [00:06:37] Speaker A: It's a scheme hang mocker. We've been listening to your new tune all the time. It's the anthem. [00:06:43] Speaker B: The anthem of the year. [00:06:45] Speaker A: Anthem of the streets. Anthems of the year. It might just be the last minute of the docks. Anthem of the docks. Tell us about the song. [00:06:53] Speaker C: What? [00:06:53] Speaker A: I'm just going to start with the song just in case there's people that are familiar with. [00:06:59] Speaker B: The songs. Money talks and it's a response to the gentrification of government. And shot. That's basically it. And it's also a fuck you to the EGCC is that. Which is the East Government Community Council. They're supposed to represent us in the community but they actually don't just go behind our backs and us for try day end Good. So fuck them. Many doctrine. [00:07:31] Speaker D: Money talks in the govind dogs Money talks in the govind dogs Money talks in the gobbin dogs and the schemes that are tongue tied up in knots. Money talks in the government dogs Money talks in the gobind dogs Money talks. [00:07:41] Speaker B: In the gobind dogs. [00:07:42] Speaker D: They won't peck your brains they pack your locks. Some may live, some may die Some may laugh, some cry Some may steal, some may buy One by one no gentrify storm your gun you better storm don't run if you try to get lost go get fun Cause some get none and none get some and we're stuck still fighting for our combat half the heck of only take care when you cannot pay the rent for your slap. You're getting kicked at the gas by your ain't fit flip but it's all getting worse you second fortunately put yourself first the light that came through they bought a wee poor staff with a paint hurts here Flip they put the horn in your moss boss the young trips got the ball Boss flip your 14 got kicked to the cup and you didn't steam and you kind of grow cockroach Money talks in the gob docks Money talks from the govind dogs Money talks in the gob docks and the schemes that are tongue tied up in kns Money talks in the govern docks Money talks in the gob docks Money talks in the goblin docks they won't pick your brain till they pick your locks Never ever I see how he's changed tell never mind me I'm scheme blind Too strong to be mean to be time flat you better shush ah if you can't use your voice in you better boost Cuz you can't up your lift if you want to keep your hoo your voice passive drift to a less rift but some may stay some say bye Some st up, some lie some don't care some denied some try some wonder why st your gun you better stone don't run if you try to get lost Go get fun cuz some get none and none get stunned and my stock's still fighting for a com but some may stay some say buy some stuff up Some lie, some don't care some deny some drives some wonder why lies Some may live, some may die some may laugh some try, some may sell, some may buy One by one gentrify Money talks from the govern docks Money talks from the govern dogs Money talks from the govern docks and the schemes are tongue tied up in nuts Money talks from the govern dogs Money talks from the govern docks Money talks from the govern docks they won't pick your brain till they pick your locks. [00:09:29] Speaker A: Yes. Absolute tune. Money talks and the governed dogs here we jam right now. [00:09:36] Speaker B: Yep. Shannon. [00:09:38] Speaker A: So what's happening with the gentrification anyway? How gentrified is govern? [00:09:46] Speaker B: What's getting on there man? It's getting on there. It never. You never used to be able to see it because we're always talking about it and I was never really. I'm like, didn't you see it? But then since the bridge has been built, it's like it's just right in my face, man. Everywhere, every time, everywhere I turned. And it's not just the. Just all the it's identification of government. It's changed this, change this. Basically, since the bridge has been built, you can just see it everywhere and it's like walking about your own scheme and you feel like a stranger because there's so many new faces and so many new shops and new businesses and this is a good thing. But it's not a good thing because slowly I can see all my other people like me getting pushed out here. So it's basically just a response to that. [00:10:31] Speaker A: Fast because obviously I was at the. The Govern footbridge opening because I was in arrival stage. I jumped on stage for a song. [00:10:39] Speaker B: You were on the main stage. [00:10:41] Speaker A: It was a bad class, man. It was a bad. [00:10:43] Speaker B: That's right, that's right. It was clashing with a camel and. [00:10:47] Speaker A: But obviously we're all joking. Oh, that's the bridge. Now it's just going to be. I don't know. I don't even know what gentrification is these days. See, when I was your age, man, we used to, you know, we did overhead in the West End. We used to slag like coffee shops. But no, I don't because I'm older. Became a hipster. But I quite like a good coffee. No anywhere. I'm half the coffee because I'm a coffee Connor. I'm awake for four days of a coffee now. But you know, I mean I like a coffee. So what's the equivalent of gentrification? It cannot be coffee shops because I lived in government and there was coffee shops back then. [00:11:21] Speaker B: So it's. No in governance. Not a coffee shop for sure. I'm a coffee connoisseur. I need a coffee to go to sleep. But it's. It's basically the gas they're building and it's like the full or the locals fear are basically priced at them before they even bought. It's just gas that will never be able. Never be able to afford in the rain areas. So that's basically the. That's basically the main gentrification of government. I like a bridge. I'm happy with a bridge and get party cutter. [00:11:48] Speaker A: Do they shut the bridge? Because obviously it's one of these bridges that. [00:11:52] Speaker B: That's a swivel bridge. That's the nickname. It's called the swivel bridge. We've got a squinted bridge and then we've got the swivel bridge because it swivels. [00:11:58] Speaker A: I thought it was like a draw bridge that they just shot when rangers were playing or something. [00:12:04] Speaker B: Unfortunately no audio can still get the other bridge but no, it's a swivel bridge. It's a swivel bridge because it swivels open to let the. Whatever boats are coming up. Will that I see any boats? [00:12:17] Speaker A: The councilors that made the decision to put a bridge right across for the West End to govern how much how many horses do you think them their friends and other family bought on the cheap before the bridge was announced? [00:12:32] Speaker B: No many they bought them in advance because they're not getting boat but it's a. I think it's just mainly our student accommodation that they're all going to start building here because all the students will get the gaff cheaper here because now they can just walk across the bridge to get to or cycle to get to the universities they vape but emotional man in all honesty I'm basically just a reground level scheme who's basically try day my wee bit for my community by doing the song and try to Shane all your own try Shane Elite on the hings because if you listen to songs I'm very vague about most specifically talking about coffee shops you know that type vibe you know what I mean I'm basically just letting it be done open your eyes a wee bit and see and have a look type vibe because specifically I cannot let I go I cannot let her go man. [00:13:37] Speaker A: So there's obviously I said it's complicated because government needed needed some money put into it and he did it needed some traffic and he did some but what's happening is is that you've got new people coming in spending money but we cafe can't afford to stay there anymore so then it's going to be an expensive croissant Starbucks. [00:13:59] Speaker B: Exactly. [00:13:59] Speaker A: Have you got Starbucks? [00:14:01] Speaker B: Well at the top of Govern Road they've got a Starbucks but knew that the bridge is boat I guarantee there'll be one at the bot my Govern Road. [00:14:11] Speaker A: That'S where. That's where they see the CEO killer started he was fine until we had the Starbucks coffee and then he started. [00:14:19] Speaker B: Shooting the CEOs I think there's some. [00:14:23] Speaker A: Seen any of that yet? [00:14:25] Speaker B: No, none of that yet well we just got rid of that in the 90s don't we so no doubt it will come back yeah part of it was wasn't coffee that was causing it. [00:14:34] Speaker A: What'S been the reaction to video because everyone I've played it's actually been good. [00:14:40] Speaker B: It's been good you know honest it's been good Council liked it didn't the video show was clash there's actually a behind the scenes video on SK production SK Print SK Productions YouTube channel He's the guy that shot the video for us and he done a full behind the scenes video as well which is kind of a laugh to Go and watch. And I done a interview at it as well. Talking pure P. But that's it. It was just a good day and it was good to see. It was good getting the trips and actually the community were like, what. What's this? H it? And people were getting involved. They thought. Well, just a. They thought. Were yes voters like yes protesters for the Scottish independence. That's what comes thought we were. That we were actually protesting the gentrification of government now. Are we? Are we woman got in the video or not? So she did. Just a mad real woman that we stand there, one woman all day. It's funny. [00:15:31] Speaker A: It was just a flu testing the independence result. [00:15:35] Speaker C: I know, exactly. [00:15:36] Speaker A: That's only an anniversary or something. [00:15:39] Speaker B: No, I don't know. [00:15:40] Speaker A: Just because. [00:15:40] Speaker B: I think it's because we're the Scotland Flagways. I conscious assumed that these curtains are here like protest thingy. Because that's your zone with protest at Hamston Government. Other than the Orange walk. You know what I mean? What. [00:15:53] Speaker A: What was your script last night? I heard that we saw kicking off for the Spurs Rangers game. [00:15:58] Speaker B: I know. I heard they were off it. There was a big square jiggy up in Kopi Road, but I don't know anything about it. All I heard was something happened. So I don't know who. [00:16:06] Speaker A: I didn't know it was. It was Cotton Reddit talking about it. So I didn't know if they were being dramatic, but it was like there was no. It was sort of the spurs fans the way the Rangers fans because they're pals. We party can Aberdeen fans. Which doesn't make any sense to me, but. Doesn't make sense. But yeah. So the. The feedback's because. Wait, you said. Scooch Productions. Let's give them a shout out because it was a great video. Daniel Squish. [00:16:35] Speaker B: Yeah. I'm not sure you make man because he's kind of. He does music as well. He's a. He's part of the Pink. He's part of the Pink Floyd tribute band. The Scottish Pink Floyd. I think it's part of them. [00:16:46] Speaker A: We reviewed them radio before we see them in Motherwell. [00:16:49] Speaker B: All right. [00:16:52] Speaker A: Tell you what. I know I was. I. I'm not a big fan of tribute. I expect Pink slay because you know that you're never going to see them. [00:17:00] Speaker D: And these people, they've. [00:17:01] Speaker A: You can tell they've been playing the tunes for like 30 years. It's brilliant. Yeah. [00:17:05] Speaker B: No, fair play. I've never actually seen them, so I don't know. But I know he does his in stuff as well and I hope he's part of that band now that I've said that. But I think he's part of the Scottish. [00:17:15] Speaker A: Other Pink Floyd tribute acts are available of course there's a whole bunch of good ones. It's an Australian Pink Floyd. They Forget they charge 80 quid to get in. Armadillo could have believed the price. But to be fair you know why when you go in and he goes. They spent the money in something you see. No they might special facial or the money went to something and on the way to see Idols at the hydro last week and no offense to Idols but it was just banned on a stage and you're like that was 80 quid. I thought this was punk. [00:17:45] Speaker B: I was at Bob Dylan for me man got to see Bob Dylan. It's just. He's there. There's no. There's near like nothing new show at all. He's only got like the screen stunned on so you need to take your binoculars. [00:17:55] Speaker A: Is he go about. [00:17:57] Speaker B: He's got a band in the world class. But I. It's just like pure strip back pure kinda weird when you're used to like going and getting going a gig type vibe. [00:18:06] Speaker A: How long did he play for? [00:18:08] Speaker B: Another half A good on the half which is only like 10 songs for Bob Dylan because they're all 10 minutes long. [00:18:16] Speaker A: I tell the place for like two and a half hours. But I mean he is a bit 90 year old, don't he? Hold on, let me know, let me know my stage. 83. [00:18:25] Speaker B: 83, 83 like looks great, looks great. [00:18:29] Speaker A: Who's tuned in? Who we got See Aussie Pink Floyd. They're awesome for hell. They are brilliant. They. They are. Blow me away. I took a. I get paid and all my mates were skin and I took on my mates. Don't worry about it. I'll get it, I'll get it. I think it was about 35 quid at that point but I was still at 35 quid each. I no bother Stinger. But that's a. The Hydro. Well it was. That was Armadillo. But yeah the big news, the hydro is getting so much sh for this. The queues. The security queue is taking so long for people to get in. Whistle the new hydro security thing. So I think it's going to like an airport thing. Hydro security. Hold on. That's going. I'm going somewhere with this. Evolve Express is called. Right, okay. Show you what I'm doing here. So it's called Evolve Express. So I think it's like the airplane. They'll be able to see weapons and stuff. And of course we want everyone to be safe and make sure there's new weapons. But then. Yeah, but I think it's like, you know, they've put the can see into. [00:19:38] Speaker B: The security so you don't enter your bag out in the table now. [00:19:43] Speaker A: Exactly. So it's going to be a lot quicker. But I think you're thinking the same question and that is can evolve breath. [00:19:54] Speaker B: Alcohol and the system and the blood and there you go. [00:20:01] Speaker A: It's not designed to detect alcohol. So unfortunately they can't detect alcohol. [00:20:09] Speaker B: Yes. [00:20:10] Speaker A: And then there was another. There was a PR guy for the company saying we could if we turned up full blast, if we turned on full blast we could. But then that defeats the point. You may as well just look in a bag. Bye. You might be able to. You may be able to sneak a wee beer in. Let's go off the answer. Well, they're not looking for hash. [00:20:32] Speaker B: Appreciate about a hash man. They took out my pocket and. And they took my ticket off me and didn't let me in. And it was a. It was. They done that hip hop gig and it was yellow Killj and hang. You know, it was all the greats. I better hash me. They can't run away. He's superior content was like he's got hash and they beat my ticket and didn't let me in. [00:20:51] Speaker A: That's wild. [00:20:53] Speaker B: That frustrated about a hash mate. What am I going to do? Take it and start bombing it and then during the show probably that's not the point. Sh. [00:21:05] Speaker A: That's the thing. Like normally when the bouncer takes that the shaky bit of hash is because he smokes it. But they don't. [00:21:11] Speaker B: You can only no let me in and. And keep my hash. You can give him a hash back Fox sake. If you're not going to let me in, can I take a hash off me? I'm not. Let me in. Fuck sake. Double. That was a stinger that will kill. [00:21:26] Speaker A: J who just declared himself as their greatest of all time. I don't really agree with that. Never really got into. I mean by the time I was at the Lady Young forej the time I. I remember him being in the charts for some really cheesy R B music. It's probably actually all right now. At the time it wasn't fun me. I was. I was listening. [00:21:48] Speaker B: I still think it's true. I still think it's too cheesy on all man. I like his new stuff's good Then I love the Mama's gonna Not cute. That was my little codition. [00:21:56] Speaker A: I. I mean I think he obviously did stuff before that and he's a legend, but obviously I'm hearing all these amazing acts that he's inspired that I think have done better. But speaking of. Oh, they go super. Speaking of iconic acts. So I think LL Cool she's overrated. But like I said, I. No disrespect. He's maybe from a different age, different time. Who is. Who has the icons? Because I know that you and. And J. Lee use our students to that pop. I remember user. I've actually listened to all the Legends before you. [00:22:35] Speaker B: Hey, the Legends for me is Dr. Dreaming All Day number one. That's my guy. And the DLC. But the DLC has always been my. And everybody loves the dlc so it kind of annoys me. Everybody likes them. The DLC was always my guy. He only done. He only done one album, but he did the albums after it, but his voice was destroyed. So they're pretty fish. But the dlc, no one can do it better. That's like if you're a hip hop gun, you need to know that album for sure. [00:23:02] Speaker A: And I don't actually know that well. I obviously I know. I know about his. There's a car crash that Randy's throat. Horrible. But he. He ended up writing and producing half in 2001 and the original Chronic, of course. Of course. Sorry. [00:23:25] Speaker B: And it's you on the no one can do a better album. The last song on it's called the Grand Finale and that's actually the last song N.W.A ever done together as well as in the full N.W.A band with Ace Cuban. It's a classic tune. [00:23:39] Speaker A: I've seen a documentary. Well a clap of documentary of Eminem like next to DLC reciting some of his lyrics. And you could just see. [00:23:52] Speaker B: What the. He's asking DLC look. He's like what do you say? That's it. And the DLC tells him. It's like oh man. [00:24:02] Speaker A: Sorry. [00:24:02] Speaker B: Sorry. [00:24:03] Speaker A: On your go, man. Educating dlc. [00:24:05] Speaker B: Yeah, I know the DLC used to do that. No, like Snoop Dogg the idea like the spelling. Spelling at the lyrics. And they let the restarter. But it's not. So that's where I kind of got my. We start off with when the day like when I'm free still nicely comes with me. I know that. So it's all just subconsciously came through the dlc but said the DLC started all that type of stuff. And if you listen to that no one. No one can do a better album. You can hear and then you can hear wor and all that to kind of go type. And they've like took that and made it their own, they think. [00:24:33] Speaker A: And it's one of the day. You mentioned Dr. Dre and it's on the day that he actually made a good album with Snoop Dogg. I've only listened to the first. [00:24:43] Speaker B: I said stuff all the way through. [00:24:46] Speaker A: And then I skipped through the last tracks just to see I'm going to listen to properly when I'm going for a wee walk or something. Just shouldn't say it properly. But man, I'm really excited because the Wash soundtracks probably the last time I have trained Snip sounding good. I feel sorry for Dre and snip a wee bit because when they try and do something old school it sounds dated. You know Dr. Dre talk about weed when he does. He's not stopped. It's embarrassing. It's not Dawkins. He's always making wine. That's part of his personality. But they're going to try and change up where Modern Beat it sounds weird and I think they call it the. The balance. Right. Is. What's your first impressions of the missionary? [00:25:29] Speaker B: I've not actually listened to the album because I need to like take a. I need to like take a month after my half my life to sit and hang it nor month basically. I need to like get up everything that a day to certain proper tuning because once a day that's it, I'm done. It was like the Beatles documentary. It's like I'm gonna have to sit and watch that and it's like I need to get. Everybody needs to get away with me and I need to crawl in my hole and sit and tune in. That's the type of. I'm over that album. So I'll be doing that over the weekend or probably maybe after the weekend once the gigs are the way. [00:25:59] Speaker A: Did you watch the. Have you watched the Beatles documentary Peter. [00:26:04] Speaker B: Jackson 1 Ah yeah. I feel Jackson I man, I loved it. Loved it. John Lennon pulling up early poke it not and getting caught and it was just brilliant. You see them the just point to see all because it's like I've always. I've always loved all the beautiful stuff. I'm a heavy Beatles car. I'm a heavy John Lennon company And if you don't. If you don't believe me then there you But I was just brilliant to see it in color and let live and live in color typing and be transported back into that. Back into that era. [00:26:39] Speaker A: Loved it actually the first time I've seen the. The colorized version of the Lisbon lines. I'm pretty sure before that. I mean also still quite young when that happened, but it did. I think it was just black and white for. For the. The start in my life. So what we got. So I read out some comments here last year in Knog, Alaska. Caught with shrooms in the post in lan. See that's. That's no knocking Gorick's fault because basically knocking God. It's a long story, but Wicker man lost its license. No, sorry, Wickerman didn't lose his license. Wicker man had. Well gone. I go in. But they could not continue duty. A death in the. In the. And the family that ran it. So the Polish guy that ran that used to just sit on as a policy that. And get. He's one of the people that thinks the more drugs they catch then the better a job he's doing. But other people would look at it and go well that means you've got a bigger drug problem. It depends. Status can always be. You can change stats to what it means or drugs. Drugs are down or we are doing a better job, depending what how you try to justify yourself. And even Wickerman, when they brought in, they just started picking on everyone else in the Dumfries area and knocking Gorick. An amazing festival. You've. You played. You played that last year, didn't you? [00:27:57] Speaker B: Yep, yep. It was class, man. [00:27:59] Speaker A: Phenomenal. No bother at all. It's. It's a happy festival. Everyone's same people that go every year. It's just lovely and polish just start. I think it's maybe the Thursday night or the Friday night. They just sit there and they've got a drug amnesty been and they put the snuffle dogs in. Boy, I mean you've got to be quite unlucky to get caught with the snuffle dogs. Touch with the knot. But the dog can only smell one drug at a time. [00:28:28] Speaker B: See if he's all going. If everybody enters at the same time, boom. [00:28:32] Speaker A: If everyone goes at the same time. [00:28:34] Speaker B: Somebody you know that it's one. Somebody's got to be the fall guy. You know what I mean? [00:28:38] Speaker A: I. The dog's saying find me weed. And then if somebody's got weed, they'll find it. And it's not a transmit because it's quite a quiet bit at the start. So the dogs aren't as distracted. Anyway. Anyway, we're getting. Getting off an Attention. How was. How was the festival? [00:28:59] Speaker B: What was it like? Yeah, that was brilliant, man. And I was near. I was going to say I was but I was actually when I hang back. But that was a BR festival, man. I was told to just strip ball and get in that we river but I end up not doing it. But it was good man. We played. We. We got to play live three in the morning in a mad set cuz he in a. In a tent cuz the Allen Govern just if we done our set because we went. We went on stage to do set and that's what happens. Julie put his new on the stick and that tune corrupted the full. Corrupted the full USB so we could only play like five songs and then it was just Glee song 12 times or something so we could only play five tunes. But we went into the tent it was a big massive tent and it was empty and we started and we got three songs in and it was full and we're going to the last song and because hang end up DJing for us. What's his name? The reggae guy? There's a reggae djing car. What's his name again? [00:30:02] Speaker A: Oh, Tom Spirals. [00:30:03] Speaker B: Tom spiraled out of control. He. He DJed for his man. He was class. [00:30:08] Speaker A: I've never even seen him dj. I've seen him sing. Well, he just rap a million times. [00:30:14] Speaker B: He pressed the buttons for us basically, all right. And he had a lot. He had a lot. He had a laptop for us to plug a USB in here but I went up to just data because the USB wasn't what he's like because the tent ended up full by the time we got three, four songs in and then we only had one song left and he was like just did a false net again because they don't need the nose. So we just. We've done our cut of tunes again and then. But it was brilliant, man. I'd love to go back. I'd love to do it again this year. Hopefully we can get a set. And then after that Alan Govin got us to go in and that's what happened after I came off stage in that as some. Because what's his name Ian diamond when we were on stage came up and came up and gave us a full boat, a bucket and four cans while we're on stage and I couldn't came up well I was on stage performing and asked me for some tobacco for a joint and okay, let it back. [00:31:02] Speaker C: Up my pocket and gave him it. [00:31:03] Speaker B: And he came back with a joint and I got a joint Stage bought a buck fast. I go off the stage and big Ians like that we are nectar. There you go. It's just my name. It's a brilliant. It's a brilliant festival man. And then I end up. We end up playing a tent at three in the morning for Alan Govin and that was a good revive as well man. And it was just a good weekend. She just getting a pass to be at the festival for a weekend. There were some good acts. I can't remember them. There was a mad black a mad black blood on the main stage and she was brilliant. Every soul sing over every full scale band can't remain who they were. Somebody will tell Julie was here to tell you. [00:31:39] Speaker A: They specialize in world music stuff so it's amazing you see stuff that you'll never see again. Probably you know. Exactly. Coming from Latin America, Africa just trad stuff from Ireland. Just as it's unique sound. Yeah and yeah but that's a good bit of advice for anyone that's watching this. Maybe no play the festival before. If you go in at the start and there's nobody there don't try and wait till more people turn up because it just comes after your set anyway Just play it because what tends to happen is I know we're not Congo if it's a 10 I'm thinking of I wasn't there if it's tent I'm thinking of it's right near the main stage. So as soon as the main stage finishes everything comes into the bar tent for a pint and it just gets busy and it's a great viewing man playing in Neday and then. [00:32:30] Speaker B: But then all of a sudden you turn man. It was nuts. It was actually nuts. [00:32:35] Speaker A: It's better than the opposite happening where you start with a fill one and you empty. I've done that. [00:32:39] Speaker B: Exactly. Exactly. Exactly. [00:32:40] Speaker A: That's how so height. Ali Grant's in the house. [00:32:44] Speaker C: Hello Ali. [00:32:45] Speaker A: She says I loved wicker man. Haven't been in knocking haven't been back to knocking order after my car had to be towed by tractor one year. That can happen anywhere. It can happen anywhere. Unfortunately we live on this island. We live in this island. Audio is cracking. Is that Jamie Wilson in the house? Hello Jamie. Are you talking about my microphone is my maker My new mic sounding good. All I need is a mic stand and. And I need to remember we've got the for now says the Helen Polish used to be really strict at Rockness. Yeah. Remember the. Remember the dogs outside Rockness as well. Come join me live Another time. This is excellent, says Stacy Klein. Hello, Stacy Klein. Angela's in the house. Wickerman, one of the best. Fondly son. GBH is in the house. Hello Gareth. And we've got one son in the house. Nas is the best rapper. Says Christopher. Can we disagree with that when it all comes with everything and we can. Yeah, we can. [00:33:54] Speaker B: Of course we can. Okay. [00:33:56] Speaker C: I love Nas. [00:33:56] Speaker A: But name five rappers better than Nas. [00:34:01] Speaker B: Two pack. Eminem, the Doc. His fourth. [00:34:12] Speaker C: Probably fourth. [00:34:13] Speaker B: That's fourth. That's just after world Biggie. So fifth. [00:34:18] Speaker A: It could be fifth. [00:34:19] Speaker B: It can be fifth. [00:34:20] Speaker A: What about underground? Because I always feel like these questions when you're asked the greatest neither brings in the British. [00:34:28] Speaker B: That was either and stuff like that. [00:34:31] Speaker A: But the reality is is that obviously that's a bit. I suppose you're talking about the grace. You're thinking about the impact that is gonna be not the best. Who's. Who's underground? Who's underground? We'll get to Scottish later. Still you don't need. What about Scott? The Scottish guys after this we're just underground rappers from. From America or whatever that maybe don't get there. [00:34:52] Speaker B: MC Ren. I love them easy. Probably underground. Mob deep. No mob deep mop. DMX. Definitely no Jay Z. Wouldn't even be my top 20 man. I never got the hyper jersey offense neither man. I will never understand it. Never. I just. [00:35:17] Speaker A: I remember when. [00:35:20] Speaker B: I was. I was never big on Kanye either but I kind of want them a bit. But he still know that means don't really up there for me either. [00:35:28] Speaker A: Well how can you. What you can't deny is that he's. He's ahead of the game. So I remember he's impact. [00:35:34] Speaker B: Impact wise. He's got the. [00:35:35] Speaker A: For sure college dropout came out and it was just like. I don't remember. I liked it right at the start I thought it was good but I didn't quite. [00:35:43] Speaker B: I didn't say 50 Cent. There you go. [00:35:45] Speaker A: I just have enough food with Jay Z and didn't him for sure the biggest troll on the planet. Absolutely loving life. But yeah he could. He could. [00:35:58] Speaker C: He could tell. [00:35:58] Speaker A: He could spit. [00:35:59] Speaker B: But you. [00:36:00] Speaker A: I listened to the Reasonable Doubt albums of him and that's top five albums. What time I just. I just never got it. I remember it was the biggest rapper in the world because of that song with Beyonce and. And I remember it was. It was funny to put the hat on and go yeah. I remember my mate Jamie shows the. Jamie McMullen. He was just going. He would put out. He did impression of Jay Z and put his hat on and go, yo, go, yo. Though it was really good at it. Oh, guys, tomorrow, of course, like we're promoting something in there also. We mentioned Mob Deep, by the way. Mob Deep splaying Glasgow. Alana Superman and Debate are promoting that. [00:36:45] Speaker B: So I heard. I heard that. I heard the. Julie won the. The competition for that to get CCTV book to support Mob Deep. So that's amazing. [00:36:55] Speaker A: Is that how she's official? [00:36:57] Speaker B: It's not official. He's not released it yet. But I've heard that he's going to win it. Well, it's one. [00:37:04] Speaker C: Sorry. [00:37:04] Speaker B: The one just like he won the manga one. Who didn't get it The. [00:37:10] Speaker A: The Mob together a freestyle. [00:37:13] Speaker B: There's a competition. [00:37:13] Speaker A: I have Danny Kelly's. [00:37:15] Speaker B: Are you going to do it as well? [00:37:18] Speaker A: I've not done the Jackal trains for ages, man. I've been. I've been Gyros album, man. I've just been totally thinking Gyro's album. I'm 90. Finished the album and I've just got to focus on every so often. I just feel within something. But I just need help. [00:37:32] Speaker B: Break up even. You're in the final thoughts. [00:37:37] Speaker A: Yeah. This is. Just got to concentrate on that and then. And then I'll try to get in on that first. We're getting there. It's just a podcast. I'm. Because it's a Gyros album. I'm skin and I'm unemployed again. I'm getting into character. There'll be no Christmas. It's just me and there's myself in coconut. [00:37:59] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:01] Speaker A: We got killer. Oh, sorry. Which are the promo. Mob deep. Explain. The 28th slay. Glasgow, which is where Gyro Baby's album launches in March, by the way. But that. That's ages away. But shows Talana and Superman debate for getting Mob deep. But closer to home and sooner. I see Gareth posting a bit basket tomorrow. I'm gonna. I'll try and find the fly. You tell us what's happening. [00:38:26] Speaker B: So tomorrow night it's Iron bars and I cannot Kap. I think it's Kap or Dana. Gig and Basket called. That's what it's called. So it's a gig and basket and it's a hip hop event headlined by CCTV Pro Focus G Savona Savannah. Ian's playing there as well. I think make a Ryan May show up who's just playing somebody else. I'm forgetting somebody. [00:39:02] Speaker A: It's a good. It's a good friend. But it's It's a Gaelic name. I don't know how to pronounce it. [00:39:06] Speaker B: Oh. Love lock. Love. [00:39:08] Speaker A: Look Is how you say it. [00:39:09] Speaker B: Love lock. Live lock. And the main man Mackenzie is also playing. Yeah. Who kp. I was close. I got it. Cat was good. [00:39:20] Speaker A: Basket area. [00:39:22] Speaker B: In the basket area. Man. Won't it. [00:39:25] Speaker A: I've never been to basket. [00:39:27] Speaker B: Neither man is. We've been invited down a few times after Cocky to play down there. But we've never been able to get down to there. And it's. This is like the 50th time he's asked. So it was like Right. It's a bit time we're going. Damn. Man. So I'm actually looking forward to it because I always see the footage. Yet there's always. It looks like it'd be staging. I could be a good venue type thing could be hip hop type. So it'll be good to go and get a shot later. Mic. [00:39:50] Speaker A: You know. I've had not just the hip hop nice. But just other people. I played it. It's just a nice cozy venue. Apparently the owners are brand new as well. Got a question from Jamie Wilson. This could. This could go either way. This one. Actually. Are you going to see California Scheming when it's released? For people that don't know that's the. [00:40:08] Speaker B: Story of the great Pokes and the Dundee Boys. [00:40:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:40:14] Speaker B: I suppose. I suppose I'll watch it. I. If. If Big Thingy doesn't invite us to the Premiere Council. I usually get into that using to be the. The. The actors for that. [00:40:30] Speaker A: But they put a shirt out for extras. [00:40:33] Speaker B: I seen that Tony was James McAvoy. [00:40:37] Speaker C: Yes. [00:40:38] Speaker B: Name. I. If James invites us to the Premier then I'll be there. [00:40:42] Speaker A: At one point there was a picture of James McAvoy. That he was my doppelganger before I had that challenge in a couple years. But I actually I would have done. But I've done extra work before man. And sometimes it can be a heavy long shift. But I. I think it's good. I know the SN put a post. He's totally against it. I know Bo is against it. I know the. I know all the old school legends are they hate it. [00:41:09] Speaker B: The fact. [00:41:09] Speaker A: I don't understand why they don't just see it as a funny story. [00:41:12] Speaker B: It's a walk up. I don't. I don't know if they hate the story or if they just hated the fact that they'll try to get rappers to get in a rap following. Kid on to be rappers or something. Like I can't even do it. But it was funny. But. [00:41:25] Speaker A: Well, it was funny. I loved it. I give the banter. [00:41:29] Speaker B: No, but I guess an amazing. I get some amazing story, man. Even if it's. Even if it's tongue and cheek B and the. The way people like it, I think it's still good. What the boys done. They managed to fill the music industry. The music industry. That's amazing. [00:41:44] Speaker A: This syllable and brains both on the show. I don't know if they're. They talking terms at the time. So they did the show separately, but they. They basically slagged from Scottish accent. So then they went in and pretended they were Americans. And this will be the time Eminem came out. So everyone was trying to back. Was trying to book young blonde, white American rappers and. And it's a great story, man. And I don't think. I don't think people should take it too personally. It's gonna be a funny story. But I can also see the point is that back then, you know when you think all the stuff that stage, the Freestyle master and Two Tone committees, all the hard work they've put in place, what they were putting a Scottish voice on it. It kind of. It does kind of make it a bit of a joke. [00:42:29] Speaker D: But I see it. [00:42:32] Speaker B: It's just. [00:42:32] Speaker A: Just a funny story rather than. [00:42:37] Speaker B: That's it. I want to take it too serious, man. But I most definitely. I'll watch it. [00:42:44] Speaker A: We got Killer Mike. It's a personal favorite. Says episode Killer making lp. No snow. [00:42:56] Speaker B: Not you. [00:42:57] Speaker A: De. [00:42:58] Speaker B: Educate me. [00:43:00] Speaker A: You want. You want to hear a chin? [00:43:02] Speaker B: If you want. Run. I'll run the jewels, man. Come on. They've got to be up there as the best. One of the best underground acts for America 100. And they just keep. [00:43:12] Speaker A: They keep smashing it. Yeah, that's what Killer Mike is. So he's the other guy that. [00:43:19] Speaker B: What. Apologies. [00:43:23] Speaker A: What do you all think of Body Count's latest Comfortably? What Body Comes. [00:43:30] Speaker B: They've done Comfortably Numb, cover of Pink Floyd. I've seen it live. SWG3 and they threw a pick into the crowd and I caught it with my teeth. Amazing. It was one of the best gigs I've ever. Swear to God, man. I've got a pick. No. Then I gave it Tommy. I caught the pick with my teethman. What a gig. Me, G Lee, Damage Goods was there. Big Ian was there. [00:43:52] Speaker A: Was that one of the first run three tickets? [00:43:56] Speaker B: No, no, just I. I know G League got the Patreon free ticket and I just. I bought a ticket. I think G League copped that ticket man prody for that because what an eight that was and we're gonna get done first corporate no you'll enjoy you'll enjoy it mate. It's a good chun friends are we and Pink Floyd of Pink Floyd of. [00:44:17] Speaker A: Approved which one I don't know but. [00:44:23] Speaker B: HT was on that Jimmy Fallon show and and Pink Floyd approved this message what song what one. [00:44:34] Speaker A: Is Roger and David finally agree? [00:44:36] Speaker B: I don't think it was Roger anyway I think he's too busy concerned with links. [00:44:43] Speaker A: Gemma is in the house Looking good bro. [00:44:47] Speaker B: Yeah oh Jesus. [00:44:51] Speaker A: Angela says easy E I got my. [00:44:56] Speaker B: More I'm gonna play another I'm gonna. [00:44:58] Speaker A: Play another one of your tunes what's your what's your favorite CCTV music video because you've actually got oh good enjoy. [00:45:09] Speaker B: Music videos now in all honesty it would probably be life on tech because that was when we actually had like control over the music video the other ones was just kind of we had today so probably life on Tech man Even though I'm kinda I kind of hate the song about now but I love it still love it it's just overlayed so overplayed man that AI that's probably the best video man and see the cut here's how we store it Here's a funny story to this video is as well supposed to attack somebody at the at the cash machine to get to get cash athlete to try and get money because we're living life on tech and we had some my big JP for governor he was supposed to come that day and day and it was just and he end up not being able to make it and obviously we're running on the clock like we've got MacKenzie shooting the video so it was like last minute Angus like who can we get to come and do this And I messaged my dad I was like dad come and come in there so I'll give you a score and he's and he came run because he wasn't only run the corner for his gaffe and he came around done it but he's like if I'm damn this I'm making it look real and and it may not look at it when you're looking at the video but he actually ripped my jacket and bust my lap and I put way we paid them the score for I I got my M.O. boston my jacket ripped and they make for a score oh that reverse mugging. [00:46:36] Speaker A: No there's no it's just an actual cage mugging A punch in the face. [00:46:41] Speaker B: For 20 quid I know that Jake. [00:46:45] Speaker A: There'S his life in tech where it and now our story begins somewhere In. [00:47:04] Speaker E: A house and scheme in Glasgow. [00:47:12] Speaker C: I'll. [00:47:12] Speaker D: Take what I deserve Cause they make. [00:47:15] Speaker E: Me want it's all for one and. [00:47:19] Speaker D: One for all to the ends of the year so take what you deserve we make me want yours on all kisses all for one and one for all to the end to the air. [00:47:33] Speaker E: I stone here in the freezing cold and the passion rain no I paint it in my name Thoughts running through my brain Telling me I need to do something instead of nothing Because I cannot keep living like the way it's been gone Sleeping on my pals couch he'd like a nasty full of doubts Try to see past the clothes Just. [00:47:48] Speaker D: Get some cash and won't be soon. [00:47:50] Speaker E: But they're easier said than done when. [00:47:51] Speaker D: You'Re just two worth of cunts getting. [00:47:53] Speaker E: What that told your scum boxed in now there's no wetty toys I stone. [00:47:56] Speaker D: Here rotten we are holding my sandies fed a human race my soul sucked upon damage I wanted vanish I can't manage to help myself be wanted by the hangs I need I can't buy the things I need to pass his. [00:48:07] Speaker B: Back to the bro the only help. [00:48:08] Speaker D: Is it we better send shoes I'm still stuck in debt cuz my credit universal and my dealers no sales I need to square them up I'll get to I mean I'm striked things I'll do it it's tough and have no time for a lot it's life I'll take what I get here quick. [00:48:46] Speaker A: Every. [00:48:47] Speaker E: Second that we're standing here waiting is getting lost anticipating just running nothing taking. [00:48:51] Speaker D: Anything that we need but this is. [00:48:53] Speaker A: No other greed it's the only option that we've got so what's the way. [00:48:56] Speaker E: It needs to be Just to get us at the hole we're in sick always being skinny so much stress so my mind it seems like I just. [00:49:02] Speaker D: Can'T back here I need to make. [00:49:04] Speaker B: A decision if this is worth the rest we're taking to be normal and. [00:49:07] Speaker D: Chilling there's only one way. [00:49:11] Speaker A: We'Ve got. [00:49:12] Speaker D: It all planned it take on our run on written rules We've been given this time and make a change our. [00:49:16] Speaker E: Sale we go to barley up and. [00:49:18] Speaker B: Tally up the troops that fail so. [00:49:20] Speaker D: You can catch us at a hole. [00:49:21] Speaker B: In the wall but you best protect yourself because we're prepared to take it. [00:49:24] Speaker A: All. [00:49:47] Speaker E: Running not quick it's time to get in a boot it there's no Turning back now he's got his cared. [00:49:52] Speaker B: Out to use it It's a one. [00:49:53] Speaker D: Chance to swipe away our worries to move it we try to snatch and running tip o courageless movement as he. [00:49:59] Speaker E: Fought back I got myself caught in a tussle I try to drop the blade and run he got caught in. [00:50:03] Speaker D: A scuffle and that's what getting off. [00:50:05] Speaker B: The camera caught her facing the lens. [00:50:06] Speaker D: You know it's tough bro. I guess we'll pay you back in the end because it's life on check. I'll take what I did. [00:50:32] Speaker A: That was life on tech. Tell us about that. What that was with stage project. Tell us about that. [00:50:39] Speaker B: That was for stage album the air in between and it was actually the first we were just we guys in the scheme man. Try to do stuff. Try to do the music. And then Stig was doing an album that was the first album Stag was doing when we met him and he actually paid us and that was the first ever beat that Stig gave us. And it was like we need to try and do something class to us for stead and he told us to write a song about robbing a postie and we came up with a life on tech. Basically that's how we interpreted that because if we were really going to do something like how what would it be? It would probably be robbing somebody at the whole Noah and it's also just rapping about that was that was a life at the time pretty much has changed but that was basically it. But it was the first ever beat stage ever gave us and it was pure like one of the things like this is a. It's probably one of the best Scottish hip hop beats I've ever heard as well to be honest. So every class beat and for him to gears that at that time when I look back it's like really just mad me daft country mama wee rappers statement if you gave us the ball with action and I think we delivered I think we delivered for him on that. [00:51:49] Speaker A: No dear but I question and you you were the whole project. It's a concert album for people who don't know featuring the freestyle master. So I empress. [00:52:02] Speaker B: They'Re up your top dogs as well and it was like they're having a try and hold it in where the best the best rates type thing it's and they basically did. [00:52:12] Speaker A: Try on because they're up against the best writers as well. Maybe he's wanting to have a shave verse. [00:52:16] Speaker B: Exactly. Exactly. The only thing I regret about do you know the albums Mistake was whenever I actually got to sit and walk with Davy and Sora and Empress Cozy, the lockdown and things like that happened. But so that kind of prevented us being able to do that type of stuff that didn't clash. To be able to set natural beyond the one song nigga. And have that. [00:52:38] Speaker A: Have that. [00:52:39] Speaker B: We scored Jiggy on a beat, but I end up getting on a tune with them up on Stakes Demons album. I'm on a song We Empress in funeral Solar. No Funeral for a friend. That's right. I forgot about that song. I actually forgot about that song. Well remembered. Well remembered. That's a song. We're on the club. [00:52:58] Speaker A: That's an iconic song as well, man. That makes. [00:53:01] Speaker B: I always forget that song, man. [00:53:02] Speaker A: Science. That was live. I suppose everyone just started was that. It was that time a lot done and stuff. Everybody was bottled up. All that trauma and bereavement. [00:53:17] Speaker B: But yeah, when they go into funerals and stuff, man. Yep. Sufferings. [00:53:23] Speaker A: But beautiful song. An amazing video as well. [00:53:27] Speaker B: I had a captain video. [00:53:31] Speaker A: I mean, the bar is the first time I've seen you live. [00:53:35] Speaker B: I think it's right, man. [00:53:37] Speaker A: You. [00:53:38] Speaker B: You're good, man. Your gig at the bar is. [00:53:41] Speaker A: Man. [00:53:42] Speaker B: We backed up sticking the master. We had without. We walk. We were. Would you call them. I can't remember the name. What's that? Irish. The Irish rappers again. I watch your body count. Yeah. For some reason. Kneecap. I don't know why I was thinking body count. I Kneecap is. We will let the kneecap before kneecap because we had the. The bali clavas. Not one and that. And just backing up stick. So people didn't even know it was us. But you knew it was us. [00:54:09] Speaker A: Well, actually you had level and the dress from the hair. [00:54:14] Speaker B: So I was like. [00:54:15] Speaker A: I was the way. [00:54:15] Speaker B: I just remember. I remember being there, man. I remember sitting in the back, man. And it was. It was packing in the backstage, like the main stage, in the barriers. And I was just having my yoke the fridge and it was just 40, but it was a buckfast. Me and Julia looked at me respectfully, but that's all. That's been one of my. One of my regrets for starting at this game is we didn't get one of the balls. [00:54:46] Speaker A: But he didn't even have a swagger. [00:54:48] Speaker B: Bucky didn't get a swig. Well, I think we had some sort of alcohol, but we didn't get any of the bottles for that fridge. And it was packing. Every time we came off stage, it was empty. [00:55:01] Speaker A: Where's The Bella. [00:55:02] Speaker B: That's the wine, mate. Oh, man. There we go. I get. I get pure cringy. But I look back. [00:55:13] Speaker A: There you go. Nice. [00:55:15] Speaker B: That's why I can jump make a stop as well. [00:55:26] Speaker A: Yeah. So at the Jackal Trains before then was one of the many. The many cameos because basically one of my band members. [00:55:38] Speaker B: You done three different sets that day. Did you know? Do you know they like three different sets? Like Gyro Babies. [00:55:43] Speaker A: I jumped. I jumped on stage for a song with Colonel Mustard. That doesn't account. [00:55:50] Speaker B: I thought you done like three different sets or something. Like you went up with Jackal Trades and then you went back later. [00:55:56] Speaker A: Gyros has played twice and that was a different night. Right, nice. And when you jump on the call and listen, I just jump on in the idea. I've got a verse. [00:56:08] Speaker B: You got us up for it as well. Twice. Yeah. [00:56:10] Speaker A: About seven in the morning doing a campfire. No, it wasn't even a campfire. It was behind a stage and I was like just what. Just what I call stage. [00:56:20] Speaker B: Where did you. Army five. I'll text you. Meet us at the haystacks, man. We'll be there. [00:56:25] Speaker A: And then that was otherwise. That I agreed to something that I didn't even permission to do. But it worked. It was class in front of thousands. [00:56:41] Speaker B: Yep. [00:56:42] Speaker A: And then the same thing happened this year with Ian and he was. [00:56:46] Speaker B: He's buzzing about. [00:56:48] Speaker A: He absolutely smashed. But I thought he just shot it. [00:56:52] Speaker B: I could have got answered the phone shouted, he ran out of battery or something. [00:56:56] Speaker A: But he made it. [00:56:59] Speaker B: And I killed everything through them. [00:57:02] Speaker A: Sorry, someone's saying that they can't really hear me. That road load. Sorry about that. [00:57:08] Speaker B: Turn that up, Govern. [00:57:09] Speaker A: I can turn that up. Turn it up. Turn up. Right. Is that better? Is that steroid? [00:57:15] Speaker B: Yeah, that's better. [00:57:17] Speaker A: Better. [00:57:18] Speaker B: That's better. [00:57:19] Speaker A: We're trying things. That's too loud. Surely it's too late for me, but yeah. Who's going to say you're this Joey and the why is ju in the comments. Julie, you getting still dream about lucky to this day. Actually, you do realize that you're the special guest. [00:57:40] Speaker B: You're under anged up, mate. [00:57:42] Speaker A: Come on into that show hang. We're going to talk about your single. You've got a new right on time. Julie Boom has turned up too loud. [00:57:51] Speaker B: Scheming single with the year for sure. [00:57:55] Speaker A: We're going to put this on the audio podcast. Luckily my friend Michael is a ninja. He's a sound ninja. So he will fix the levels if this is going as an audio podcast. May as well. I may as well go as an audio podcast to Spotify and Apple. If you're listening to the audio podcast. Thank you for listening to audio podcast. If you're watching on Facebook, Twitch or YouTube, then fuck off and listen to the audio podcast. Only joking. But there is an audio podcast as well. If you're ever on a long journey and you need. You need some. Some of this new one out the day. This is the news. The monthly roundup of the news is out today on Apple Spotify. Just type in. You call that radio. So we're gonna. I'm just gonna see if JL's messaged me to see if he's actually turning up or no. So let's see. Or you could just message on the comments there. Jl, since you're watching the show. [00:58:57] Speaker B: It's two loads. This is the pure opposite. Anna, usually G Lee, shows up happy. [00:59:03] Speaker A: Is that better? I'll be okay. [00:59:06] Speaker B: Sounds good to me. [00:59:07] Speaker A: Is that okay? One, two, one, two. Microphone check. Is this okay? Can someone give me the thumbs up in the. In the chat? No. All right, you. That's what you did. Now how do you get. Hold on. I heard the noise. Someone's at the door. Is Jay Lee. [00:59:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:59:42] Speaker C: Can you see me? I've not got headphones. Where's troops? I'm promoting the gig. This happening on the 20th of December at the Dream Machine in Glasgow. I'm out promoting, talking big business. [01:00:03] Speaker B: Big business in the big rooms. [01:00:07] Speaker A: Have you got a liar that we can see? [01:00:10] Speaker C: I don't have a flyer we can see. I've passed them all at me. I've gave them all. I'm not good at the promo. I've gave all the flyers up. Respect to everybody. That's on the coffees Friday night. [01:00:23] Speaker A: Yeah, I wanna, I wanna. I run out of milk. So I've got some kind of, would you call it, herbal tea. [01:00:31] Speaker C: Yes, big up the Sprite. [01:00:33] Speaker A: I've got herbal people. [01:00:34] Speaker C: That's. [01:00:35] Speaker A: What a secret. Honey. Manuka, honey. Manuka, honey. Bye. [01:00:41] Speaker C: Cheers for having his own mark. Appreciate it. [01:00:43] Speaker B: Where are you? [01:00:43] Speaker C: Apologies, apologies. I'm not actually here. [01:00:47] Speaker A: Ok, take us a tour. [01:00:49] Speaker B: Where? [01:00:50] Speaker A: You want to see where you are? [01:00:51] Speaker C: I'll take you a wee tour of Glasgow city centre, yeah? [01:00:54] Speaker A: Oh, you're fucking at the four corners. Be careful. [01:00:58] Speaker C: Glasgow Central. If you come up here and look around, there's gig flyers spotted all the way around here. If you find a gig flyer room here, you get free entry into the gig. So that's for everybody out there. There's there's flyers dotted all the way around Glasgow. And if you get one of the flyers, bring them on the night, you get them for free. [01:01:22] Speaker A: Yeah, that is a crazy promo. [01:01:24] Speaker B: That's a. [01:01:25] Speaker C: That's a pretty good deal. [01:01:26] Speaker A: That's a very pretty good deal. [01:01:28] Speaker C: And we've got some lineup for this one, you know, I mean, we've got Loki, Becky Wallace, Pro Focus, cctv, we've got the Ox, we've got Young Kieran, we've got the next gimmick, We've got Hunters. Hunters are good people, actually overbooked for this gig. Do you know what I mean? [01:01:48] Speaker A: That's never happened before. [01:01:50] Speaker C: That's usually what I do, Mark. I know. It's usually the. It's usually what happens. [01:01:54] Speaker A: Oh, it's what I do. It's what I do. And that's why when I told you, you've overbooked. If I'm saying you've overbooked, then overbooked, man. But it always ends up good in the end. And I've got the. I've got the flyer. I've got the flyer here so we can have a look at it. [01:02:12] Speaker B: Yeah, you're very low. [01:02:13] Speaker C: There we go. That's all the people that's on the gig. [01:02:16] Speaker B: Look at that. [01:02:17] Speaker C: How can you say that's not worth a tenor? That's worth a 10 or all day. And twice on Sunday. I mean, twice on Sunday. The bringing in Beddy's coupled in the cost of the tenor as well. And rumor has it the Scottish album of the year one will be there. Rumor has it. I don't know if it's true or no, but apparently he'll be there. Any old days hit songs? [01:02:48] Speaker A: Scottish of the year five times, 12 times. I want to be there. I want to be there. It's possible. [01:02:57] Speaker B: Oh, don't get away. [01:02:58] Speaker C: I said don't get away. Well, everyone knows the winner of the Scottish album of the year will be there. I may not even be there. So if you. If you come and I'm there. [01:03:11] Speaker B: Marvin, you want to watch? [01:03:13] Speaker C: That's a good deal. [01:03:14] Speaker A: What's the vibe on the ground at the Four Corners? [01:03:19] Speaker C: The vibe on the ground here tonight in Glasgow. A somber energy as we lead up to gig. It's very somber. The people on the ground tell me it's what they want. We are giving the people what they want. [01:03:37] Speaker A: So I didn't know the queen had died again. She kind of patched her braid. [01:03:48] Speaker C: So you need to wear your Hawaiian shirt on the night of the gig. [01:03:51] Speaker A: Well, see, there we pub behind you. They've got one of the earliest karaoke's in the world, but they tend to stop it when it's time for karaoke. Could you listen in and hear if you hear a guy singing Rod Stewart. [01:04:09] Speaker B: Right. [01:04:11] Speaker A: Do you know the one I'm talking about? Just behind you, next to Tim Hortons. [01:04:15] Speaker C: Do you want me to ask you go to the pub? [01:04:17] Speaker A: It go to the pub. Let's go. We'll take you. [01:04:23] Speaker C: So we tour live and interactive. You can actually see. You call that radio still live and interactive? [01:04:28] Speaker A: Danny says you can tell by the sound issues is that it's so it's not. It's not planned. [01:04:34] Speaker C: It's a private function. We don't get. Can't say this. A private function. [01:04:39] Speaker B: Ask him. Ask him as a karaoke one. Ask him when the karaoke's back on. [01:04:47] Speaker C: It's a private. [01:04:50] Speaker B: Ask him when's it back on. [01:04:52] Speaker A: Somebody again in trouble in the. [01:04:56] Speaker B: Back. [01:04:56] Speaker C: Just ask. [01:04:58] Speaker A: GBH has just won a free ticket to the gig because the Garrisons. It's called the Garrison. [01:05:10] Speaker C: Be in my granddad's arms for one now, mate. Maybe on the 20th I will be in my grandad's arms and maybe my granny will be there. No, I mean it's a family affair. [01:05:24] Speaker A: Friday night, 20th. Why no dream Machine. Right, next, right behind the bars. We're just talking about. The bar is there. Bring your own bottle. [01:05:35] Speaker B: Bring it in. Ben. [01:05:39] Speaker A: While we're here, we're going to play a new single. [01:05:42] Speaker B: So yeah, I've got a video plan. [01:05:46] Speaker C: For the new single that's in the works. I've got Mackenzie film that. So that should be coming before the gig. Before the gig. We're also playing Bathgate tomorrow as well with GBH Pro Focus. Loads of other good acts, so the gigs are piling up. But I my new singles on Bandcamp, the new single discuss topics like homelessness, depression, running through the polis, the day to day kind of stuff that we all face in Glasgow. And there'll be a video to accompany that soon, so keep your eyes out. Thanks to everybody as well that supported it on Band Camp Friday. Appreciate that. [01:06:31] Speaker A: Also, I'm proud that you. You used the birthday single angle, which I invented about 10 years ago, which is always release a single on your birthday because then you can say thanks everyone for the birthday messages. And my new singles today. [01:06:47] Speaker B: Exactly. [01:06:48] Speaker C: And who the who bought these kind of promo techniques, Arthur? [01:06:52] Speaker A: Well, me, but it's a no brainer. [01:07:04] Speaker C: We'll keep. We can't say the other one because we'll get banned off at YouTube if you know. You know. Do you know what I mean? Also looking forward to Mark's gig as well in March. Dreams are mental to that guy as well. [01:07:21] Speaker A: Ages away. Let's get. [01:07:23] Speaker B: Hopefully I make it to them.
